WCO President’s Charities:
Casa Teresa and Patriotic Service Dogs Foundation.
Casa Teresa, located in the city of Orange. Casa Teresa provides a temporary home and on-going support for pregnant women 18 years of age and older who are alone. Life skills and education programs prepare these women to make loving and informed decisions for themselves and their babies. In the past fiscal year, they have provided over 17,000 bed nights to 186 women, babies and children.
Patriotic Service Dog Foundation is a new charity for us. We had a veteran, along with his service dog, come and speak to us in February and they made a strong impression on our club.
City of Orange Public Library
A donation in the amount of $35.00 is made in the memory of any Club Member who has passed, to help support our city library and the many programs they offer to our commjunity.
I Sanctuary - CFWC Special Project
International Sanctuary aim is to end the cycle of human trafficking by providing self-sufficiency options to survivors. When the label of "trafficked victim" is removed, she is immediately treated as an individual, giving her the opportunity to gain dignity and confidence.
Community Foundation of Orange - Field of Valor
The Orange "Field of Valor" is a patriotic tribute honoring all Veterans and Active Duty Military personnel for their dedication and service to our nation. Monies raised will go directly to help them and their families.
Friendly Center assists the economically less fortunate through programs and services such as children and youth academic tutoring, family advocacy, supplemental food programs and emergency services.
Donations For Doggies, Pietra Gaw, Chairman
Thanks to all who contributed, 209 items were collected which will be delivered to OC Animal Care in Orange. We often collect bags of doggie treats for them, no rawhide please.
Human Options - Preventing Violence against Seniors
Human Options assists seniors who are victims of elder abuse and provides a hotline, shelter, transitional housing and a community resource center for battered families.
Orange Senior Center, City of Orange
A variety of free and minimal cost services such as meals-on-wheels, fitness and health services, workshops and classes are offered to senior citizens in our community.
Patriots and Paws
Provide Veterans /Active Military/Reservists and their families throughout Southern California, basic home furnishings for newly acquired residences. They may also be matched up with a rescued companionship animal. All services are provided free of charge..
